Did you know that kratom can be used for a lot of different purposes? In fact, it can have some big benefits for your skin. If you want to use it in this manner, you’ll need to learn how to turn that kratom into soap. You’ll learn how to do just that in the guide below.
What Equipment Is Needed?
Before doing anything, you need to make sure that you have the right equipment. Making kratom soap isn’t too difficult, but you’ll never get it right unless you’re equipped for the job. Below, you’re going to find a list of items that you’ll need to get started.
- An ordinary scale
- A thermometer or two
- Rubber gloves and safety glasses
- A stainless pot
- Pyrex glass
- Plastic or wooden spoons
- A small box to make the mold
- Parchment paper
- Essential oils
- And a blender
What Ingredients Are Needed?
Once you’ve gotten the equipment, you’ll also need to acquire the appropriate ingredients. A list of those can be found below.
- At least 4 ounces of kratom powder
- 6 ounces of lye
- 12 ounces of water
- Jasmine flowers
- 1-ounce Shea butter
- 3 ounces Palm kernel oil
- 7 ounces Coconut oil
- 3 ounces Palm oil
- 16 ounces Extra virgin olive oil
- Avocado oil
Try to get organic products whenever possible. And, make sure that the weighs are accurate. This quantity of the ingredients will allow you to make a 2-pound bar of soap. That will equate to roughly 10 bars. Remember that you can add or subtract the ingredients to get the precise amount that you’re after.
Follow The First Steps
When you’re ready to get started, you should go ahead and remeasure your ingredients. Make sure that the quantity is absolutely perfect. You’ll also want to put on your rubber gloves. Be sure that your work area is protected. You can protect the area using newspaper or cloth sheets. After all, you just never know when a spill is going to occur.
Follow The Next Steps
Now, it is time to begin warming up the glycerin base. Once it has converted into a liquid, you will want to turn the heat down. Then, you can begin adding the oils. This includes the avocado, olive, palm, palm kernel, and coconut oil. Make sure that everything is mixed thoroughly. It should be heated to 115 degrees. Now, start preparing the molds. Be sure that they’re lined with parchment paper.
Mixing The Water And Lye
Next, you will want to mix the water and lye. Be sure to wear goggles. The mixture should be stirred until the lye is completely dissolved. Allow both mixtures to cool. After that, you will want to pour the lye into the oils. Be sure to continue stirring along the way.
This will eventually cause the mixture to thicken. If you want to speed up the process significantly, you can use an electric blender.
Adding The Kratom And Finishing It Off
Once the mixture has thickened enough, you will want to add in your kratom. You can use whatever strain you prefer. Then, you will want to add the essential oils. This will make the soap smell great. After that, you will want to add the soap to the mold. Be sure to shake it to get rid of those bubbles.
The mold should then be covered with plastic food wrap. Now, you will need to insulate the mold. It should be placed in a warm area and covered with a blanket. Be sure to leave it here for at least 24 hours.
You Need To Remain Patient
Finally, you will need to allow the soap to harden for at least 48 hours. For at least 4 weeks, you should expose the soap bars to air. You will also need to cure them on a piece of cardboard and turn them daily. Be patient and you’ll eventually have your very own homemade kratom soap bars!
